Day 1: Flight to San Diego, CA With sunglasses packed, head to San Diego, known for 70 miles of beautiful beaches and mild temperatures. Unpack for a two-night stay in a two-room suite at Embassy Suites San Diego Bay, ideally located downtown next to Seaport Village. D
Day 2: San Diego Visit the USS Midway Museum showcasing 29 restored aircraft and 60 exhibits from the engine room to the Captain’s bridge aboard the retired aircraft carrier. Embark on a narrated lunch cruise of the San Diego’s scenic North and South Harbors to enjoy views of historical landmarks, impressive waterfront architecture and natural wildlife such as seals and whales. This evening you may want to explore Seaport Village to shop and eat or walk to the Bob Hope Memorial of 15 life-sized bronze statues located next to the impressive “Unconditional Surrender” giant statue. Day 3: La Jolla Discover the highlights of Old Town, Balboa Park, Coronado Island’s intriguing history and more with a local guide. Descend into La Jolla, “The Jewel” of northern San Diego and walk into the heart of the Village where locals say this is the ideal time of year to see abundant seals relaxing along the beachfront walkways! Overnight in San Clemente. B, D
Day 4: Santa Catalina Island Board a high-speed ferry for magical Catalina Island with clear blue waters. Boasting a rich and colorful past, the island’s unique stories are revealed on an Avalon Scenic guided tour including a ride up Canyon Road for memorable views of the turquoise water and the Wrigley home. Did you know the Chicago Cubs used to practice on the island? Enjoy lunch at a quaint seaside restaurant before time to shop the island’s store and explore on your own to admire the postcard views! Return to the “main island” and travel to swanky Palm Springs, CA to unpack for a two-night stay in your suite at Hyatt Palm Springs Hotel, located directly on Palm Canyon Drive in the heart of the city surrounded by majestic mountains and palm trees. Day 5: Palm Springs A local guide will share the glamour, beauty and history of this playground of the stars. See where Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, Kirk Douglas, Marilyn Monroe and more have lived. Tour Shield’s Date Farm, get an up-close look at one of the many wind turbines, and learn insightful stories about the beautiful Coachella Valley. Explore the Palm Springs Air Museum on a guided tour, rated one of the best aviation museums by CNN Travel. In the heart of downtown, and right out the doors of our hotel, stroll the “must see” Palm Springs Village Fest, an evening street fair featuring arts, crafts, food and entertainment! B
Day 6: Mt. San Jacinto Board the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, the world’s largest rotating tram car, and travel along the breathtaking cliffs of Chino Canyon up 8,516 feet to the Mountain Station of Mt. San Jacinto State Park. Depart the desert and trek west to Riverside, CA to tour the historic Spanish Mission Inn Hotel followed by a farewell dinner in its four-diamond dining room. Arrive Los Angeles airport area for an overnight stay. B, D
