Sunrise Tours is a family owned and operated company that was started in 1993. The company has grown steadily over the years, and now consists of 20 fantastic employees and offices in St. Louis, Indianapolis and Kansas City. We pride ourselves on delivering extremely high quality tour experiences at a fair price, and we consider repeat Sunrise Tours customers our most important marketing “tool”.

NORTHWEST COAST

Travel north from San Francisco to Seattle and discover the magic of this corner of the world where the coastal terrain is a beautiful combination of sandy beaches, towering rock cliffs and an endless array of marine creatures and remarkable tall trees.

Day 1: San Francisco, CA

Fly into San Francisco and unpack for a twonight stay at the Hotel Zephyr in Fisherman’s Wharf’s. D

Day 2: Explore San Francisco

Experience the architecture of the “city by the bay”, Chinatown, Golden Gate Park, Nob Hill, Cable Cars and countless breathtaking views of the San Francisco Bay. Enjoy leisure time in Sausalito before returning to Pier 43½ to board a comfortable boat for a narrated Golden Gate Bay Cruise featuring views of Alcatraz Island. B, D

Day 3: Avenue of the Giants

Hop on Highway 101 and head north through wine country to the gateway of the redwoods, the Avenue of the Giants scenic drive with some of the tallest and oldest coastal redwoods on display. Arrive Humboldt State Park visitor center for a guided walk in the largest remaining stand of virgin redwoods in the world. Overnight in Eureka, CA area. B, D

Day 4: Magnificent Redwoods

Grab your camera and feast your eyes on the magnificent redwoods on a gondola ride at the Trees of Mystery, stop at both Redwood National and State Park an overnight in Crescent City, CA. B, D

Day 5: Florence

Follow the coastline north to Florence, OR for an exhilarating Giant Dune Buggy Ride up and over the massive sand dunes that characterize this coastal area. Visit Heceta Head Lighthouse, the most photographed lighthouse on the Pacific Coast and continue to Newport for a two-night stay with private ocean view balconies at a Sunrise favorite, the Elizabeth Street Inn. Day 6: Oregon Coast

Board the 65’ Discovery for a naturalist-led marine discovery cruise – watch for whales, sea lions, seals, lighthouses and more! Visit the top attraction on the Oregon Coast, the Oregon Coast Aquarium, for a behind-the scenes tour and lunch overlooking the Passages of the Deep exhibit. Marvel at spectacular ocean views from the tallest lighthouse in Oregon, Yaquina Head Lighthouse. Under starry skies, enjoy a beachfront bonfire with s’mores (weather permitting). B, L

Day 7: Astoria

Visit the “Whale Watching Capitol of the Oregon Coast,” Depoe Bay, and watch for the resident pod of grey whales. Take a self-guided tour and sample some of the award-winning products at Tillamook Cheese Factory before a leisurely walk along Cannon Beach to see “Haystack Rock,” a geological Oregon landmark. Arrive in Astoria, the oldest city in Oregon, for dinner and an overnight stay overlooking the Columbia River. B, D

Day 8: Coastal History

Learn about the history of the U.S. Coast Guard and Columbia River Bar Pilots during a morning visit to the Columbia River Maritime Museum. Stop at Mount St. Helens Visitor Center to learn about the devasting 1980 eruption and this geologically intense area. Arrive in Seattle for a two-night stay. B, D

Day 9: Explore Seattle

Enjoy a morning ascension in the iconic Space Needle for spectacular city views followed by free time at the nation’s oldest farmer market, Pike Place Market. Learn about Seattle’s pioneer history during a visit to the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park and see salmon migrate up the fish ladder at the Chittenden Locks. B, D
