Day 1: Mid-Ohio

Travel to Ohio for an overnight stay. D

Day 2: Philadelphia, PA

Arrive in Philadelphia in time for dinner. Philly is known for its eclectic “foodie” culture and there is no better example than savoring a Brazilian dinner at Fogo de Chao where servers carve the meat tableside! Get comfortable in our midtown hotel for a 2-night stay. B, D

Day 3: “We the people…”

Experience the power, fascination and drama of the National Constitution Center, the world’s first and only museum devoted to the U.S. Constitution including a live drama presentation Freedom Rising. With our personal expert, tour “Americas most historic square mile” in Independence National Historical Park to view the revered Liberty Bell, Independence Hall (where the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution were signed) and the site of the first President’s “White” House because from 1790 to 1800 Philadelphia was capital of the United States! B, D

Day 4: Washington DC

Good Morning Philly! After breakfast, head to the exciting Museum of American Revolution. Immerse yourself in the early road to Independence through immersive gallery experiences, object theaters and recreated historical scenes. “The Revolution was in the minds and hearts of the people…” Adams, 1818. Reflect on our nation’s history with lunch in the museum before traveling to celebrate the holiday in our nation’s capital. It is a time to celebrate! Unpack your bags for a 2-night stay at our hotel near the National Mall. B, D

Day 5: God Bless America

Today we celebrate the 4th of July in our Nation’s Capital! A guided tour will educate and entertain as we tour DC and learn of its immense history. Explore the National Mall Smithsonian Museums and the Smithsonian Folklife Festival which is an exposition of cultural heritage held on the Mall featuring musicians, storytellers and craftspeople. Watch the “Rockets Red Glare” as the spectacular fireworks display lights up the night sky. Nothing beats seeing the fireworks against the DC skyline of monuments and memorials! B

Day 6: President homes

A freedom tour would not be complete without a visit to the homes of some of our fine presidents. This morning we depart for Mount Vernon, George Washington’s mansion, gardens and grounds. Then we’re off to Charlottesville, VA to tour Monticello, the estate of Thomas Jefferson. You will get an intimate look at the house Thomas Jefferson built and furnished for himself and his family including glimpses of the books and objects that reveal Jefferson’s sharp mind. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the Hotel 24 South. The hotel, which originally opened in 1924, is considered an excellent example of a Colonial Revivalist style with modern amenities. B, D
