Day 1: Wisconsin

Leave your passports at home; our European vacation is in Wisconsin! Enjoy a welcome dinner on beautiful Lake Nagawicka in Hartland, WI before unpacking for a 2-night stay in west Milwaukee. D

Day 2: Milwaukee - “Munich of the West”

Our local step-on guide will take us on a tour of Milwaukee...Euro-style! Afterwards, a tour of the opulent Pabst Mansion, and free time in the quaint Old World Third Street district for shopping and lunch on your own. This afternoon, we’ll begin our journey, similar to the European immigrants of Wisconsin, aboard a canal boat. As we cruise along the river, imagine how it felt arriving in Milwaukee while enjoying the outstanding views of its modern and historic icons and buildings on the shores of downtown. Bring your appetite to Milwaukee’s most famous restaurant since 1902, Mader’s German Restaurant, for dinner and an opportunity to see the extensive Stein collection and hummel figurines in their Tower Gallery. B, D

Day 3: Stoughton – “Norway”

See a glimpse of the multicultural European influence at Old World Wisconsin, before visiting Stoughton, a town that at the turn of the 19th century had the largest number of Norwegian immigrants in Wisconsin. Tour the new Livsreise “Life’s Journey” museum and savor a midday "maltid" at the Sons of Norway Lodge. A guided tour of Stoughton highlights the 21st century changes before traveling further west. Check into the Chalet Landhaus, New Glarus, Wisconsin, the “Little Switzerland” of America, for the next 2 nights. B, L

Day 4: New Glarus – “Switzerland”

After a hearty breakfast, journey to Pendarvis, historical site of the Cornwall immigrant miners in the “European” town of Mineral Point. Travel to the Norwegian town of Mount Horeb, known as the troll capital of the world. Return to New Glarus, “Swisconsin”, with its emblems of Swiss cantons adorning the downtown buildings and street signs. This evening, welcome a savory Swiss dinner complete with yodeling and long horn musical entertainment! B, D

Day 5: Return home

No trip to Wisconsin feels complete without a stop to pick up cheese! We’ll tour the Swiss- American Alp & Dell/Roth Kase, the fastest growing specialty cheese factory in the country. B
