Sunrise Tours is a family owned and operated company that was started in 1993. The company has grown steadily over the years, and now consists of 20 fantastic employees and offices in St. Louis, Indianapolis and Kansas City. We pride ourselves on delivering extremely high quality tour experiences at a fair price, and we consider repeat Sunrise Tours customers our most important marketing “tool”.
Day 1: Wisconsin Dells Depart towards the natural beauty and spectacular scenery of the Wisconsin Dells in southern Wisconsin. Go back to a simpler time with a down-home, music-filled evening on a farm. Enjoy a home cooked meal and great music from the Dickinson Family Band at the Wisconsin Opry. D
Day 2: Ashland on Lake Superior Cruise along the striking sandstone cliffs and unique landscape of the Upper Dells, cut by ancient glaciers, and pass under pine-crowned cliffs through winding river narrows. Traveling north, visit the galleries of internationally recognized Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum. Enjoy dinner in the north woods at Little Bohemia Restaurant, site of a 1934 gun battle between John Dillinger and the FBI with real bullet holes in the walls! Spend three peaceful nights at The Hotel Chequamegon, located on the shores of Lake Superior. B, D
Day 3: Apostle Islands In Bayfield, embark on a three-hour cruise among the Apostle Islands, so named by the missionaries who thought there were 12 islands (there are actually 22). Sparkling clear waters, historic lighthouses, spectacular sea caves, extraordinary rocky outcrops, captain’s stories and informative commentary are part of this memorable cruise! Lunch at the elegant Victorian Old Rittenhouse Inn and with our local guide learn more about the charming town of Bayfield. End the day with an evening stroll along the beach to watch a beautiful sunset! B, L
Day 4: Madeline Island Take a ferry to beautiful Madeline Island, the only Apostle Island inhabited year-round. Visit the historic local museum before exploring this lovely island with a local resident who will share the joys and challenges of year-round island living – imagine life in winter! After lunch enjoy some free time before we catch the ferry back to the mainland. B, D
Day 5: Southern Wisconsin We leave our beautiful surroundings on Lake Superior to journey south. With over 5,624 mustards from all over the world and a collection of mustard history, the **National Mustard Museum **fascinates even the most avid ketchup lover. Enjoy dinner before an overnight stay in southern Wisconsin. B, D
Day 6: Return home No trip to Wisconsin is complete without a stop to pick up cheese! Tour the Alp & Dell Cheese shop and listen for the yodeling before heading home. B
