Sunrise Tours is a family owned and operated company that was started in 1993. The company has grown steadily over the years, and now consists of 20 fantastic employees and offices in St. Louis, Indianapolis and Kansas City. Day 1: Birthplace of the Blues Region

Following Ol’ Man River, travel deep into the heart of the MS Delta region full of bourgeoning spring blooms. Visit the Delta Blues Museum where Same Cooke and Ike Turner honed their talents then savor dinner at Ground Zero Blues Club restaurant owned by Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman. Day 2: Vicksburg, MS

Visit Vicksburg National Military Park to commemorate the site where Ulysses S. Grant turned the tide of the Civil War. Explore the park’s USS Cairo Gunboat and Museum and view the remains of a Union ironclad gunboat sunk then raised from the muddy depths 100 years later. Step onto the preserved riverboat turned museum, the Jesse Brent Lower MS River Museum, and walk through an outdoor flood model and tour the Motor Vessel MS IV towboat. See the roadside attraction people are working to save; the mesmerizing Margaret’s Grocery & Market’s aesthetic blend of folk art and Byzantium Empire before returning to the hotel. B, L

Day 3: Delta Legends

Mississippi Delta rich cultural heritage and stories of BB King’s 60-plus year career are explored on a tour of B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center. In the guitar studio, maybe you will be inspired to fiddle on an instrument! Return to the hotel for a hands-on cooking class at the resident Viking Cooking School where even the homework is fun.
