Day 1: West Virginia
Setting our sights on the east coast, our scenic trip begins with an overnight stay in the capital city, Charleston, WV. D

Day 2: Mt. Airy, NC
Arrive in Andy Griffith’s Birthplace to experience “Mayberry”! Enjoy lunch at Nana’s Eatery and General Store before embarking with a deputy-on-duty guide for a “Mayberry State of Mind” guided tour. See a replica of the Old Mayberry jail, Floyd’s City Barber Shop, Andy Griffith’s home, Wally’s service station and the world’s largest open-faced granite quarry. Overnight in Raleigh- Durham, NC. Day 3: Outer Banks
Head east into North Carolina to the Outer Banks, a chain of barrier islands on the Atlantic Seaboard known for their natural beauty. Visit the original 1886 Roanoke River Lighthouse in Edenton Bay. It is one of the last screw pile lighthouses in the US as explained during a lightkeeper’s perspective tour. Check into our Kitty Hawk hotel with beach access for a 2-night stay and enjoy your first of many walks on the beach! B, D

Day 4: Hatteras National Seashore
Enjoy a beautiful coastal drive along the National Seashore and visit Bodie Island Lighthouse on our way to Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. At 203 feet, Hatteras is the tallest brick lighthouse in the United States. In Roanoke Island Festival Park, tour Elizabeth II, a replica of the 16th century sailing vessel that brought the first English colonists to the New World over 400 years ago! A “shop and taste” stop at Mackeys Ferry Peanuts is planned before dinner. B, D

Day 5: Coastal Aviation
Journey to Kitty Hawk where on Dec. 17, 1903, the Wright Brothers achieved the first powered airplane flight. Explore the Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach, home to one of the largest collections of WWI and WWII era aircraft. Enjoy a “glory days of military aviation aircrafts” tour including their WWI and German Cottbus hangers. Cross under and over Chesapeake Bay, to Ocean City, MD and unpack your bags for a 3-night stay at the Victorian Dunes Manor Hotel, where each room features a private ocean front balcony! B, L

Day 6: Ocean City
Awaken to the smells and sounds of the ocean! Visit Assateague Barrier Visitor Center known as the “edge of the continent” for a tour and a chance to see the Chincoteague Horses. Step back in time while enjoying lunch and shopping in the quaint, historic town of Berlin, MD. Return to our hotel in time for their traditional afternoon Tea and Crumpets. Enjoy leisure time to walk the iconic and award-winning wood plank Boardwalk buzzing with excitement before dinner at Harrison’s Harbor Watch overlooking Assateague Island. B, D

Day 7: Ocean City
For the early riser, take in the glorious sunrise while walking the beach. This morning is yours to do as you wish. Ride the tram up the boardwalk, visit the museums, shop or simply people watch! This afternoon, board a 65’ boat for a narrated nature cruise of the Sinepuxent Bay, the barrier island shores and the Atlantic Ocean hoping to spot a dolphin or two followed by a delicious dinner. Day 8: Baltimore
A must see in Baltimore is Fort McHenry proudly displaying the American Flag that inspired Francis Scott Key to write our nation’s anthem. Explore the Inner Harbor entertainment district before dinner and an overnight stay in Baltimore. B, D

Day 9: Fly home from Baltimore. B
