Day 1: Bentonville, AR
Travel to Arkansas to explore the unfolding history of America at Crystal Bridges Museum. Located in the Ozark Forest, the Museum boasts art spanning five centuries including masterworks from Colonial times. Overnight in Bentonville. D

Day 2: Little Rock, AR
Travel through the picturesque Ouachita Mountains to Garvan Woodland Gardens for a docent-led tour of the majestic botanical landscapes. Built by self-taught gardener Verna Cook Garvan, the gardens are home to 40-year-old rare shrubs, blossoming magnolia and camellias trees, and 160 different types of azaleas. See the nationally-acclaimed Garvan Pavilion located at Mrs. Garvan’s original planting site as well as rock gardens, a conifer border and a growing number of bulbs and perennials throughout the garden. Experience a fun-filled dinner and Broadway musical (show TBD) at Murry’s Dinner Playhouse. Unpack for a 2-night stay in Little Rock. B, D

Day 3: P. Allen Smith
Spend the morning at the garden home retreat of one of America’s most recognized and respected garden and design experts, P. Allen Smith. Enjoy a guided tour of the home and terrace garden, free time to visit the rose garden, vegetable garden, and gift shop for a book signing and photos with P. Allen Smith (only available if he is in residence at the time of the tour). Visit the Clinton Presidential Center to tour the Scholars Garden with a local master garden. Explore the Center on a docent-led tour before free time in Little Rock’s downtown River Market district. B, L

Day 4: Return home
Heifer International works in over 30 countries around the world to yield sustainable solutions for poverty and world hunger relief. Tour the headquarters that achieved the highest “Green Building” rating possible and see how they transformed an industrial waste site into a wetlands habitat. Arrive home early evening with new garden inspirations and ideas. B
