Day 1: Sioux City, IA
Travel along the Missouri River into Iowa for an overnight stay in Sioux City. D
Day 2: Rapid City, SD
Explore the Badlands of South Dakota and enjoy dinner at the famous Wall Drug Store. Get comfortable for a 2-night stay in Rapid City at the popular Comfort Suites. B, D
Day 3: Rapid City, SD
A local guide will take us to visit Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument and the Black Hills. Travel to Custer State Park featuring 71,000 acres of unspoiled land, pristine lakes and roaming buffalo. Enjoy a Buffalo Safari Jeep Tour into one of the largest herds of bison in North America. Enjoy lunch in the historic State Game Lodge where Presidents Eisenhower and Coolidge dined. B, L
Day 4: Cody, WY
Depart Rapid City this morning and begin our trek to Cody, WY. Along the route, we will see Devil’s Tower and pass through the beautiful Big Horn Mountains. Tonight, we will relax in the comforts of Cody Cowboy Village, a luxury log cabin lodging located in Cody with all rooms attractively appointed with a cowboy/ western flair. This is the real thing…log cabins with open beam ceilings. Cody is surrounded by scenic mountains to be enjoyed from the chairs on your cabin’s porch. Dinner and cowboy show at the acclaimed Cody Cattle Company this evening followed by a rousing time at the award-winning Cody Rodeo. B, D
Day 5: Yellowstone National Park
Visit the Buffalo Bill Center of the West before traveling into Yellowstone Park. Explore the Norris Geyser Basin, the hottest and most changeable thermal area in Yellowstone. Discover information about the geothermal features at the Museum and take a leisurely stroll on one of the trails. Unpack your bags for a 2-night stay in Yellowstone National Park! B, D
Day 6: Yellowstone comes alive!
Bring your cameras and be prepared to enjoy the best of Yellowstone today with our own guide. Old Faithful! Geysers! Paint Pots! All in all, a day of geological wonders and plenty of wildlife. Enjoy dinner in the Old Faithful Inn this evening and time to explore the area afterwards. The Old Faithful Inn, one of the few remaining log hotels in the United States, includes a 65- foot ceiling in the lobby and rhyolite fireplace. B, D
Day 7: Jackson, WY
Head south to Moose, Wyoming and follow your nose to enjoy a good old-fashioned Dornan’s Chuckwagon lunch. Next, embark on a scenic float along the Snake River with the Grand Tetons as the backdrop and a narration about the region’s wildlife, history, and geology. Continue into historic Jackson for leisure time to explore Jackson Square, located in the heart of Jackson, WY and just minutes from our downtown hotel, the Parkway Inn. Enjoy a toe-tapping, entertaining farewell evening at the Jackson Hole Playhouse (Show TBD). B, L
