Visits:

Day 1: Springfield, IL
Board our deluxe motor coach and head to the city of Springfield for a visit to the Illinois Governor’s Mansion, reopened to the public in 2018 after a 3-year $15 million renovation. The Mansion serves as the official residence of the First Family, a working office for staff, and museum and event venue for visitors. Constructed in 1855, it is the third oldest continuously occupied Governor’s mansion in the U.S. and has hosted Presidents Lincoln, Grant, and F. Roosevelt. Enjoy the evening with dinner and an overnight stay in Springfield. D

Day 2: Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum
Spend the morning celebrating the life and legacy of one of the nation’s greatest presidents at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum. Unlike any other presidential museum in the U.S., it features high-tech exhibits, interactive displays, well-preserved artifacts and multimedia programs, as well as a reproduction of the White House as it looked in 1861. Upon arrival in Chicago, check into the Palmer House, a member of the Historic Hotels of America and a true Chicago icon. First open to guests in 1873, the Palmer House is the longest continually operating hotel in the nation and sits in the heart of the Chicago Theatre District. B, L

Day 3: Hamilton
Join our local expert for a detailed tour of the rich architectural history of the Windy City. Enjoy a lunch stop on the bustling boardwalks of Navy Pier before a free afternoon to explore. Visit the shops along Michigan Avenue, enjoy breathtaking views at the top of the John Hancock Center, or cruise along the Chicago River on a water taxi tour (additional activities at own expense). After dinner it’s showtime! Experience the blockbuster Broadway musical, HAMILTON from our front mezzanine seats. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, R&B, rap and Broadway, HAMILTON is the story of America’s Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War.
