The 2018 Festival marks the 106th celebration of the gift of the 3,000 cherry trees from the People of Tokyo to the People of Washington, DC. Enjoy the spirit of this generous gift while exploring the highlights of Washington, DC.

Day 1: Ohio
Overnight in central Ohio. D

Day 2: Washington, DC
Continue eastward to visit the historic and famous Arlington Cemetery including a visit to John F. Kennedy’s tomb and the Tomb of the Unknowns. Arrive in National Harbor for an unforgettable 4-night stay at the award-winning Gaylord National Resort. This waterfront resort, with a stunning 19-story glass atrium and sweeping views of the Potomac River and our nation’s capital is surrounded by a premier entertainment and shopping district. After dinner, retreat to your luxurious accommodations to prepare for our DC adventure. B, D

Day 3: Washington DC
Today, a licensed DC tour guide boards the coach to visit the historical highlights of DC. Stand where global events have taken shape and view the many historic monuments framed in the vivid white and pink blossoms from more than 3,000 Japanese cherry trees along the Tidal Basin. Enjoy a guided Capitol Building Tour and a White House Tour (based on availability). Tour the historic Ford’s Theater with a National Park Service representative, visit the Ford’s Theater Museum and the Peterson House where Lincoln drew his last breath. Savor dinner at The District Chophouse and Brewery, a local favorite, before returning to our hotel. B, D

Day 4: Washington, DC
“Trust no one” as we explore the only public museum in the US solely dedicated to espionage! The International Spy Museum features the largest collection of espionage artifacts ever placed on public display. Enjoy our exclusive visit with Dr. Vince Houghton, Historian and Curator of the museum whose research has centered on technological intelligence! Spend time at the Smithsonian, the world’s largest museum complex. B, D

Day 5: Washington DC
Explore the Newseum, a multimedia exploration of the importance and history of journalism in America attraction as evidenced when awarded TripAdvisor’s top 25 US museum designation in 2016. There will be more time to visit the Smithsonian Institute museums today. This evening, dress for the night out and embark on a first-class dinner cruise aboard a luxury yacht Odyssey down the Potomac River featuring magnificent views of DC and the Cherry Blossoms, exquisite food, dancing and music while watching the sun set on our fine Capitol City. Day 6: Columbus, OH
It’s time to begin our journey home. Travel to The Spring House for a step back in time with old-fashioned, homestyle fixins. Then, it’s off to Columbus, OH for the night. B, L.
