Day 1: Ohio
Overnight in central Ohio. D
Day 2: Washington, DC
Continue eastward to visit the historic and famous Arlington Cemetery including a visit to John F. Kennedy’s tomb and the Tomb of the Unknowns. Unwind with sunset views of the Potomac River while dining on some of DC’s freshest seafood at Tony and Joe’s before unpacking for a 4-night stay at an ideally located DC area hotel. B, D
Day 3: Washington, DC
Our licensed DC tour guide boards the coach to visit the historical highlights of DC. Stand where global events have taken shape and view the many historic monuments framed in the vivid white and pink blossoms from more than 3,000 Japanese cherry trees along the Tidal Basin. Tour the historic Ford’s Theater with a National Park Service representative, visit the Museum and the Peterson House where Lincoln drew his last breath. Savor dinner at a nearby restaurant then return to Ford’s Theater and get comfortable in reserved seats for a toe-tapping musical fairy tale with a comedic twist, Into the Woods, directed by Peter Flynn. Day 4: Washington, DC
Visit the White House Visitor Center to get a glimpse into the president’s iconic home including over 90 artifacts from the White House collection. Enjoy a guided Capitol Building Tour (based on availability) then walk the subterranean tunnel to the Library of Congress for a self-guided tour of our nation’s literary treasure. Embark on a voyage of discovery at the Smithsonian, the world’s largest museum, education and research complex. B, D
Day 5: Washington DC
Explore the Newseum, a multimedia exploration of the importance and history of journalism in America attraction as evidenced when awarded TripAdvisor’s top 25 US museum designation in 2016. Embark on a first-class luncheon cruise aboard the narrated luxury yacht Odyssey down the Potomac River featuring magnificent views of DC and the Cherry Blossoms, exquisite food, dancing and music while watching city skyscape of our fine Capitol City. There will be more time to visit the Smithsonian Institute museums today before returning to National Harbor. B, L
Day 6: Columbus, OH
It’s time to begin our journey home. Travel to The Spring House for a step back in time with old-fashioned, homestyle fixins. Then, it’s off to Columbus, OH for the night. B, L.
