Day 1: Fly to San Francisco
Fly into San Francisco and unpack for a two-night stay. D

Day 2: Explore San Francisco
It’s off to explore the “city by the bay” with our local guide. Experience the architecture of the city, Chinatown, Golden Gate Park, Nob Hill, Cable Cars and many breathtaking views of the bay. Enjoy leisure time in Sausalito before returning to Pier 43 ½ to board a comfortable boat for a narrated Golden Gate Bay Cruise featuring views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island. Awaken your senses at the original Bistro Boudin at the Wharf for dinner and unlimited sourdough bread! B, D

Day 3: Scenic Train Ride
Board the famous Skunk Train, a steam engine in operation for 131 years. Ride the rails along the Pudding Creek Estuary in the midst of the Redwood Forest, over some of the first tracks laid down by California Western Railroad in 1885! Explore Noyo Harbor then check into our comfortable Fort Bragg hotel for an overnight stay. B

Day 4: Magnificent Redwoods
Grab your camera and feast your eyes on the magnificent redwoods from the trails below and from an aerial view during a gondola ride at the Trees of Mystery. Stop at both Redwood National Park and Humboldt State Park to walk among the tallest living things on earth for a truly magical experience. Continue north on Highway 101 enjoying remarkable scenic views to Crescent City, CA for an overnight stay. B, D

Day 5: Florence
Visit Heceta Head Lighthouse, the most photographed lighthouse on the Pacific Coast. Follow the coastline south to Florence, OR for an exhilarating Giant Dune Buggy Ride up and over the massive sand dunes that characterize this coastal area. Continue to Newport for a two-night stay featuring rooms with sweeping ocean views at the incomparable Elizabeth Street Inn. B, D

Day 6: Oregon Coast
Board the 65’ Discovery for a naturalist-led marine discovery cruise – watch for whales, sea lions, seals, lighthouses and more! Visit the top attraction on the Oregon Coast, the Oregon Coast Aquarium, for a behind-the-scenes tour and lunch overlooking the Passages of the Deep exhibit. Marvel at spectacular ocean views from the tallest lighthouse in Oregon, Yaquina Head Lighthouse. This evening, enjoy a beachfront bonfire with s’mores (weather permitting). B, L

Day 7: Astoria
Visit the “Whale Watching Capitol of the Oregon Coast,” Depoe Bay, and watch for the resident pod of grey whales. Enjoy a leisurely morning walk along Cannon Beach and see “Haystack Rock,” a geological Oregon landmark. Take a self-guided tour and sample some of the award-winning products at Tillamook Cheese Factory. Arrive in Astoria, the oldest city in Oregon, for dinner and overnight stay overlooking the Columbia River. B, D

Day 8: Coastal History
Learn about the history of the U.S. Coast Guard and Columbia River Bar Pilots during a visit to the Columbia River Maritime Museum. Take a tour of a floating lighthouse, the lightship Columbia before traveling to Seattle for a two-night stay. B, L

Day 9: Explore Seattle
Join our local expert for a full day of exploring Seattle’s vibrant culture. Enjoy a morning ascension in the iconic Space Needle for spectacular city views followed by free time at the nation’s oldest farmer market, Pike Place Market. Learn about Seattle’s pioneer history during a visit to the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park and see salmon migrate up the fish ladder at the Chittenden Locks. Enjoy dinner at a local favorite. B, D
