Day 1: Fly into Sacramento, CA
Make our way to the west on a flight to Sacramento, CA. D
Day 2: Yosemite National Park
Experience California’s rich history on a guided tour of the state Capitol of the most populous state in the union. Travel south through central California to Yosemite National Park. Explore Mariposa, CA’s Old Town with its authentic adobe brick buildings and quaint shopping. After lunch in Mariposa, arrive El Portal to unpack your bags for a 2 night stay on the western edge of Yosemite at the comfortable Yosemite View Lodge featuring rooms overlooking the scenic Merced River. Day 3: Yosemite Valley
Awake to the impressive scenery and travel into the park to the award winning Majestic Lodge Dining Room in the heart of the Park for a gourmet lunch. Explore the rugged beauty of Yosemite Valley this afternoon aboard an open-air tram and discover full views of waterfalls, deep valleys and rock formations! With such spectacular scenery, it’s easy to understand why Yosemite is one of the nation’s most photographed parks. B, L
Day 4: Wonder Valley Ranch
The sounds and scenes from the era of steam powered railroad logging come to life aboard the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad. After a delicious lunch, travel to Wonder Valley Ranch, nestled in the scenic Sierra Nevada foothills, for a 2-night stay. Tonight, mosey on over for some delicious ranch “grub” and enjoy a campfire and a starry sky. B, L, D
Day 5: Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks
After breakfast, it’s time to explore Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, the second and third designated national parks in our country, with our personal guide. These parks are home to giants: immense mountains, deep canyons and huge trees. Take a deep breath of the pine-scented fresh air and behold the oldest living thing in the world as you view the General Grant Tree, named the Nation’s Christmas Tree by Calvin Coolidge in 1926. Return to the Ranch for an evening of food and fun entertainment. B, L, D
Day 6: Tumpisa
Cross the edge of the Mojave Desert into Death Valley National Park. Named by Native Americans as “Tumpisa” meaning rock paint for its clay bottom, the Valley is known as having the lowest point in the western hemisphere. Our overnight stay puts us right in the center of the Park at the newly renovated and re-branded The Ranch at Death Valley! Take a swim in a spring fed pool and enjoy the stars which blanket the brilliant sky. B, D
Day 7: Death Valley National Park
Embark on a journey of a wonderland that stretches as far as the eye can see on a guided tour of Death Valley National Park. Our exclusive guide from the Field Institute will share all the interesting features and stories of the Park including the stunning Mesquite Flats, Stovepipe Wells, Zabriski Point and Badwater. This evening, travel to Las Vegas, NV and The Golden Nugget for a 2-night stay. B, D
Day 8: Spirited Las Vegas
After a gourmet breakfast buffet, you have the option to spend the day in Las Vegas on your own or join us to see the spirited side of Las Vegas. An optional tour to the Valley of Fire State Park is planned. For those who choose to tag along, enjoy the beautiful vistas, unique stone formations, ancient trees and 3,000-year-old petroglyphs. Continue our excursion with a visit to Hoover Dam (additional expense). Return to Las Vegas for dinner and a ride down the strip sparkling with evening lights! B, D
