DAY 1: WELCOME TO WISCONSIN!

Depart towards the natural beauty and spectacular scenery of the Dells in southern Wisconsin. Enjoy a home cooked meal and great music from the Dickinson Family Band at the Wisconsin Opry. D

DAY 2: LAKE SUPERIOR

This morning, embark on a journey through the striking sandstone cliffs and unique landscape of the Upper Dells, shaped by ancient glaciers. Navigate the winding river narrows and pass under pine-crowned cliffs and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. Continuing north, visit the internationally recognized Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum and explore its exceptional galleries. Dine in the north woods at Little Bohemia Restaurant, site of a 1934 gun battle between John Dillinger and the FBI with real bullet holes in the walls! Check in for a three-night stay at The Hotel Chequamegon along Lake Superior’s peaceful coast. B, D

DAY 3: BAY DAYS FESTIVAL

In Bayfield, embark on a relaxing cruise among the Apostle Islands, so named by the missionaries who thought there were 12 islands (there are 22!). Sparkling clear waters, historic lighthouses, spectacular sea caves, extraordinary rocky outcrops, captain’s stories and informative commentary are part of this memorable experience. Experience the town of Ashland like a local at the Bay Days Festival! Enjoy local food, crafts, and contests or take a quiet evening stroll along the beach to watch a beautiful sunset! B, L

DAY 4: MADELINE ISLAND

Take a ferry to beautiful Madeline Island, the only Apostle Island inhabited year-round. Visit the historic local museum before exploring this lovely island with a local resident who will share the joys and challenges of year-round island living — even in the winter! After lunch, enjoy leisure time on this picturesque island before we catch the ferry back to the mainland. B, D

DAY 5: NEW GLARUS

Travel south towards Madison. With over 5,624 mustards from all over the world and a collection of mustard history, the National Mustard Museum fascinates even the most avid ketchup lover. Feel as if you’ve been transported to the Alps in New Glarus, the “Little Switzerland” of America. Enjoy a Swiss-themed dinner and overnight stay at the charming Chalet Landaus. B, D

DAY 6: RETURN HOME

No trip to Wisconsin is complete without a stop to pick up cheese! Tour the Alp & Dell Cheese shop and listen for the yodeling before heading home. B
