DAY 1: WELCOME TO OREGON!

Arrive in Portland and get to know your fellow travelers and Tour Director over a welcome dinner. D

DAY 2: NEWPORT

Head west to the legendary Pacific Coast Highway 101. Enjoy a leisurely walk along Cannon Beach and see “Haystack Rock,” a famed geological landmark. Take a self-guided tour and sample some of the award-winning products at Tillamook Cheese Factory. Visit the “Whale Watching Capital of the Oregon Coast,” Depoe Bay, and watch for resident grey whales. Enjoy a 2-night stay with ocean views from your room along the Newport coastline. B, D

DAY 3: OREGON COAST

Board the 65’ Discovery for a naturalist-led marine discovery cruise – watch for whales, otters, seals, lighthouses, and more! Visit the top attraction on the Oregon Coast, the Oregon Coast Aquarium, and be immersed in a mesmerizing underwater world. Marvel at spectacular ocean views from the tallest lighthouse in Oregon, Yaquina Head Lighthouse. Under starry skies, enjoy a beachfront bonfire with s’mores (weather permitting). B, L

DAY 4: MEDFORD

Visit Heceta Head Lighthouse, the brightest light on the Oregon coast and one of the most photographed lighthouses in the United States. After a visit to the Umpqua Discovery Center, enjoy a scenic drive into Oregon’s beautiful interior, characterized by lush rainforest and rolling hills. Continue to Grants Pass for a 2-night stay. DAY 5: GRANTS PASS

There’s no better way to start your day in southern Oregon than with a scenic calm-water float trip on the Rogue River. Take in the fresh air and beautiful scenery of the surrounding forest. Enjoy an up-close look at the region’s diverse wildlife and learn all that people are doing to save them at Wildlife Images Rehabilitation and Education Center. B, D

DAY 6: CRATER LAKE

Spend the day exploring one of the most spectacular National Parks in America – Crater Lake. Formed by a collapsed volcano, Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the U.S. at almost 2,000 feet. It’s stunning clear blue waters and surrounding mountain peaks are a sight you’ll never forget. After a guided tour of the rim and plenty of time to soak it all in, continue to Bend and unpack for a 2-night stay. B, L

DAY 7: BEND

Unlike any other museum, the High Desert Museum combines art, history, culture, and wildlife to tell the stories of this unique region from its beautiful natural campus in Bend. Learn about central Oregon’s volcanic roots at the Lava Lands Visitor Center in Newberry National Volcanic Monument where lava tubes have formed a network of underground caves. Enjoy the area’s walkable downtown district lined with local shops and restaurants. B, L

DAY 8: COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE

Discover the region’s Native American history and culture at the Warm Springs Museum, including a private lunch and presentation about the traditions of the tribes that call this area home. Your final journey of the trip takes you through the stunning Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, known for its pristine mountains and towering waterfalls. A visit to world-famous Multnomah Falls is the perfect end to a wonderful trip through Oregon. B, L

Itinerary Notes
The scenic float is on calm water and no paddling is required. Raft crew can help passengers in and out of the vessels.

Walking Information

Although above average mobility is not required, it may be helpful in enjoying this tour to its fullest. Some walking may be on uneven paths. While walking canes are allowed, we are unable to accommodate travelers using other mobility devices, including walkers and wheelchairs.

Elevation Note
Elevations on this tour will exceed 6,000 feet.

Weather
Temperatures can range from the mid-40s to the mid-80s. We recommend being prepared for cool temperatures in the evenings and at higher elevations.

Each reservation requires a $250 per person deposit planning fee (exceptions may apply) to be credited toward your final payment. Some or all of your deposit may be non-refundable per our cancellation schedule noted in these Terms & Conditions below. We are happy to accept cash, check (preferred) or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover) for your deposit.

Luggage
Orange luggage tags are provided and are to be placed on your “checked luggage” (large bag). You do not need a tag for your carry-on bag, for which you will be responsible for taking on and off the coach. There is limited space in the cabin of the coach, so unless you require your carry-on bag while traveling, we will stow it in the luggage compartment.
