Day 1: Galena, IL
Travel to Galena, IL, the perfect setting for early Christmas shopping or strolling along the quaint, historic Main Street. Enjoy dinner and an overnight at the DeSoto House Hotel, built in 1855 and host to Civil War Generals and U.S. Presidents Lincoln and Grant, located in the heart of Main St. D

Day 2: Hamilton
Continue to Chicago to explore the city’s largest open-air Christmas festival. Inspired by the Christkindlmarkt in Germany, the Christkindlmarket Chicago combines a cherished German and European tradition with local charm. Spend the afternoon at leisure on Michigan Avenue, sparkling with holiday lights and filled with whimsical window displays. This evening, experience the blockbuster Broadway musical, HAMILTON from our front balcony seats. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, R&B, rap and Broadway, HAMILTON is the story of America’s Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War. Day 3: Return Home
After a late morning departure, stop in Springfield to tour one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s largest and most elaborate Prairiestyle designs, the Dana- Thomas House. Explore the home’s 35 rooms filled with more than 100 pieces of original furniture and 250 art glass windows. Continue home arriving early evening. B
